DESCRIPTION

NatureSorb is a premium dehydrated sphagnum peat moss absorbent engineered for rapid hydrocarbon and chemical spill response across industrial, commercial, and environmental settings. NatureSorb delivers fast, effective absorption with the added benefit of being a naturally derived, biodegradable product.

Unlike synthetic granular absorbents, NatureSorb is oleophilic and hydrophobic – meaning it actively seeks out and locks in oils and hydrocarbons while resisting water. It can absorb approximately 3.8 litres of motor oil per 450 grams used, will not leach absorbed oil or petrochemicals back into the environment, and can reduce flammable vapours on hydrocarbon-contaminated sites by up to 90%.

For health and safety managers in manufacturing, logistics, transport, agriculture, and environmental services, NatureSorb offers a compliant, practical, and environmentally responsible solution for your spill response programme.

Q: What types of liquids will NatureSorb absorb?

NatureSorb is effective against a wide range of hydrocarbons and chemicals including petrol, diesel, engine oil, gas-oil, light and heavy crude oils, PCBs, oil-based paints, inks, dyes, animal fats, vegetable oils, and blood. It is oleophilic and hydrophobic, meaning it actively attracts oil-based substances while resisting water absorption.

Q: Can NatureSorb be used on water as well as land?

Yes. NatureSorb can be scattered across the surface of standing water to absorb hydrocarbon contamination. Absorption times on water are typically around 15% slower than land applications. After use, the absorbent tends to form a mat on the downwind side of the water surface where it can be recovered.

Q: How do I use NatureSorb?

Simply pour NatureSorb to completely cover the spill area. Allow a few minutes for full absorption to occur. Then sweep, scoop, or vacuum up the used absorbent. The absorbent/spill mix should be containerised for disposal by incineration, landfill, or land farming as appropriate to your site and local regulations.

Q: Is NatureSorb safe to handle?

Yes, NatureSorb is non-toxic and non-abrasive. It is made from natural peat moss and contains naturally occurring microorganisms. Standard precautions apply: avoid inhalation of dust over extended periods, keep open wounds covered, and use appropriate eye protection in dusty conditions. A respirator for nuisance dust is recommended if dust levels are elevated during application.

Q: Will NatureSorb release absorbed oil back into the environment?

No. NatureSorb will not leach absorbed oil or petrochemicals back into the environment once absorbed, making it a reliable choice for spill response in sensitive areas.
