Concerned about the bushfires and your respiratory health while in Australia?

With the ongoing bushfires across the ditch, we have received numerous calls from concerned travellers about their respiratory health, as well returning workers and students wanting to source effective respiratory protection for their time in Australia.

There are several options to consider:

  1. A basic disposable FFP2 type respirator will probably suffice for daily city commutes.

  2. For areas where the risk of exposure to ash, smoke and dust is high, we would recommend more specialised respirators.  For areas close to, but on the peripheries of the fires, we would suggest the Shigematsu Half Face Hazardous Particulates Respirator starter kit.

  3. For areas where the effects of ash and smoke may be more prevalent and the risk of harm to your health is greater, we would recommend the use of a Full Face Respirator.

For over 100 years, Japanese company, Shigematsu, have been supplying advanced respiratory protection systems. The systems offered in New Zealand and Australia are fully compliant with AS/NZ1716:2012 and EN143:2000  standards so you can be assured of the best protection.
